However, we can start taking pre-orders at any time. I didn't know what to say. Hill had just awoken from a weeklong coma-like state, brought on by the prolonged resuscitation that he had undergone to revive him from an aborted sudden death episode.

He had arrived at the hospital in a deep coma, and I painted a rather bleak picture concerning his chance for recovery to the family that was present. Oddly, they did not seem overly upset at Mr. Hill's current predicament; indeed, they approached his potential demise with a thinly concealed sense of enthusiasm. Puzzled by the family's behavior, I learned from the nurses in the intensive care unit that Mr.

Hill was a well-known business man and investor, known for his ruthless practices, who bought and sold companies with a complete disregard for the people whose lives he manipulated. Married multiple times, his infidelity, alcohol abuse, and explosive temper were the stuff of legend July 4th is a date that changed the world.

It is a day that declared the birth of a great nation and enshrined the rights of a free and independent people. The United States of America is the world's largest and greatest democracy, a nation that has shaped the world of today. Adopted by the Continental Congress on 4th July , the Declaration of Independence announced that the thirteen American colonies, which were then at war with Great Britain, were independent states, and thus no longer part of the British Empire.

Written principally by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration justified the independence of the United States by listing colonial grievances against King George III, and by asserting certain natural rights, including a right of revolution.

The declaration famously makes a statement of individual human rights:. This famous wording now represents for many a moral standard for which the United States should strive. This view influenced Abraham Lincoln, who considered the Declaration to be the foundation of his political philosophy and who promoted the idea that the Declaration is a statement of principles through which the United States Constitution should be interpreted.

It is appropriate that Visconti pays tribute to this most important of dates with a unique limited edition fountain pen since a pen was used for signatory to the statement. It is therefore a pen that we will use to remember that date. Visconti uses their sophisticated scrimshaw technique to replicate the full text of the Declaration of Independence into the barrel of the pen.

The writing is small, just large enough to be legible to the naked eye but still small enough to leave room to inscribe the founding Fathers who drafted the act. A specially engraved magnifying glass is included with each pen to pay closer attention to the intricate details. All trims are made in aged sterling silver Trims are made in 18kt gold for the gold edition and are elaborately ornate.

The blind cap is engraved with the American bald eagle, a symbol of Freedom. Inside the pen is a very special surprise: the mechanism of the plunger is operated by the Liberty Bell, an iconic symbol of American Independence. The pen and magnifying glass are packaged together with a scroll in a special collector's edition box made from American walnut. The top of the box is made from leather and is engraved with the names of the signatories from the historic act.

The warmth of the sun. Migrating birds in flight. Joy is simple. Proudly she waves pen and card holder. Proudly still made in the USA. Old Glory with the lyrics of the Star-Spangled Banner woven into waving stripes. Perfect for politicians, new citizens or anyone who proudly loves America. Furry Welders, pen or business card holder. Monkeys rebuilding the infrastructure of America one I-beam at a time.

Great gift for an. Sparks will fly when you give this gift. The pen is kept in place by the flame of the torch. Dress up your desk and turn a mundane task into joy. With so little on our desks these days whatever does go on it should speak volumes of our individuality, hobbies and interest. Life is full of black and white, but don't forsake the grey. Tardiff has explained what is interesting about Noodler's ink, and I would like to know what is interesting about your new ink.

Many thanks. I thought it was a feature to have another label on the bottle. Yes, I know it has nothing to do with the ink in the bottle Post by Fred Post by KCat :P anyway - I am always interested in new inks and, as with pens, there can never be too many inks to choose from. Post by Chuck Swisher This new ink will be made by the same company individual that makes Noodler's ink. It is our hope that our ink will have slightly more vibrant colors than Sheaffer's and Noodler's, but still be just as fountain pen friendly as these brands.

We plan to continue carrying Noodler's and Sheaffer's until Sheaffer's stops production of their ink in addition to our own line of inks. We are very pleased that Noodler's is becoming as popular as it is and we hope it continues to be a huge success. We just feel that if we are going to put our name on a bottle of ink, we should have something that is a little different than what is already being offered by another company.

When Nathan and I agreed to put our label on this ink we had no idea that he would soon be selling this ink through one of the major distributors of writing instruments in the States and that his ink would soon be found in some of the largest brick and mortar stores in this country. Based on what is happening now with his ink, we just feel it would better for both us and Nathan if we sell Noodler's ink as Noodler's ink and for us to have our own ink.

This may not be the answer you were looking for, but until we get our first samples of the new Swisher Pens Inks I really can't tell you a lot more about how they are going to perform and what colors will be available.

I should know more around the middle of July. Please take out the trash before sending a direct reply. Post by john cline ii Excuse me? I thought BIC had only announced that it was closing the Fort Madison plant, and then more than a year from now.

Sheaffer Ink is now made in Slovenia, not Fort Madison. No plans to end the Sheaffer brand, refills, ink or anything else other than US production have been announced, nor is there any reason to believe that BIC would be inane enough to buy Sheaffer then end production and sale of its products and refills This is even more true now that the ink business and sales are expanding so rapidly perhaps too rapidly in the USA, with Private Reserve, Noodler's, Diamine, Duke and heaven knows what else all having become available in the last several months and years Post by Chuck Swisher Post by john cline ii Excuse me?
