Who is lord caitanya mahaprabhu for kids

He is not known to have composed anything but a series of verses known as the Siksastaka, "eight verses of instruction". He requested a select few among his followers, who later came to be known as the Six Gosvamis of Vrindavan, to systematically present the theology of bhakti he had taught in their writings.

These individuals were responsible for systematizing Gaudiya Vaishnava Theology. Having studied under Jiva, they were instrumental in propagating the teachings of the Gosvamins throughout Bengal, Orissa and other regions of Eastern India. Many among their associates, such as Ramacandra Kaviraja and Ganga-narayana Cakravartin, were also eminent teachers in their own right.

The famous festival of Kheturi, presided over by Jahnava Thakurani, the wife of Nityananda Prabhu, was the first time the leaders of the various branches of Caitanya's followers assembled together. Through such festivals, members of the loosely organized tradition became acquainted with other branches along with their respective theological and practical nuances.

That notwithstanding, the tradition has maintained its plural nature, having no central authority to preside over its matters. Around these times, the disciples and descendants of Nityananda and Advaita, headed by Virabhadra and Krishna Mishra respectively, started their family lineages vamsa to maintain the tradition.

The vamsa descending from Nityananda through his son Virabhadra forms the most prominent branch of the modern Gaudiya tradition, though descendants of Advaita, along with the descendants of many other associates of Caitanya, maintain their following especially in the rural areas of Bengal.

Understanding the favour offered to him by the Lord, the Brahmana was greatly pleased, and he was overwhelmed with the love of Krishna. He was thankful to the Lord, for he felt himself greatly fortunate.

Then the Lord asked the Brahmana not to disclose the incident to anyone else. In His childhood, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was profusely decorated with gold ornaments.

Once, when the Lord was playing outside His house, two thieves passing on the street saw the opportunity to rob Him. Therefore they took Him on their shoulders, pleasing Him by offering Him some sweetmeats. The thieves thought they would carry the child to the forest and then kill Him and take away the ornaments. The Lord, then, expanded His illusory energy upon the thieves, so much so that instead of carrying Him to the forest they came right back in front of His house. This continued a few more times.

When they realized this they became afraid because everyone from the house of Jagannatha Mishra and all the inhabitants of that quarter was busy searching for the child. Therefore, the thieves, thinking it dangerous left Him. The child was brought back to mother Sachi, who was in great anxiety, and she became satisfied. Once on Ekadashi in the house of a Pandita, there were arrangements for preparing special prasadam for Lord Vishnu.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu asked His father to go there to ask for the vishnu-prasadam pretending to be sick. The house was situated about two miles away. Chaitanya is sometimes referred to by the names Gauranga or Gaura due to his fair complexion, and Nimai due to his being born underneath a Neem tree.
