Why ezra cant be a

The same applies to Bridger, whose monomyth structure is executed quite well. For me, nothing is by chance when it comes to the Force, taking the blatant example of Kanan, a former Jedi padawan, who meets Ezra, a Force sensitive boy, in a planet strong in Force as Lothal.

More than only his physical and mental transformation, Ezra pass through an identity metamorphosis, letting of being only the son of Mira and Ephraim Bridger, a street orphan from Lothal, to whom he became known in the future, passing through trials represented by the hunting of agent Kallus and the Grand Inquisitor, the menace of Maul and Darth Vader, and the battles with Governor Pryce and Grand Admiral Thrawn without counting the temptations of the dark side several times and the loss of his mentor ; and by the end, moulding his spirit and his name in something with symbolism and weight: the one who helps Ezra being a passage over an obstacle to others Bridger.

In the Christian theology, when accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit comes to you and He begins to inhabit your whole being, serving as a comforter and guide he is also called "God with us" , making of you a living and traveling temple.

But that the Holy Spirit is with you, does not necessarily mean that you are totally aligned with Him. The same thing happens to Ezra who, despite the Force being with him, he is not always with the Force. For approximately four years, he goes through an arduous and hard process of building and shaping his new being, and of him aligning himself with the Force, and that can be symbolized by making a parallel with the Jedi temple of Lothal.

In Judaism, the symbols of rituals are of enormous weight and importance since they were instituted by God: male circumcision, various animal sacrifices, and the reading of the Torah and worship in a physical temple nowadays made in synagogues.

However, with the arrival of the Messiah and the establishment of Christianity obviously for those who believe it , none of these things are more necessary, mainly in relation to the physical temple, because as I mentioned earlier, one becomes a living temple of the Holy Spirit.

That same process can be observed in Ezra and the Jedi temple in three stages: the first time he walks in and Yoda gives him a kyber crystal to build his first lightsaber; the second time his talk with Yoda takes him to a testing place - Malachor as a parallel of the Jedi trials - in which he meets and is tempted by Maul, finds a Sith holocron and almost destroys everything, he faces once again inquisitors and Darth Vader, Kanan is blinded by Maul and Ahsoka " dies " facing Vader all in the same day ; and the third time, no longer in the temple itself but what was left of it, entering in the beyond the World Between Worlds and changing the timeline " saving " Ahsoka.

We already know that the Jedi Temple of Lothal is quite peculiar and intriguing, full of mysteries and unanswered questions. Every time Ezra enters there, some change occurs in his life, specifically in three very remarkable moments. We also know that the temple contains a wall with the painting of "The Ones", whose presence must surely affect that place.

I interpret Ezra's process in a tripartite way: first as the spirit of the Daughter, achieving a crystal, building his first lightsaber, and asserting himself on the Jedi path as his true destiny; later as the spirit of the Son, as a consequence of the events of Malachor with the loss of Ahsoka, having to mature due to the recent deficiency of Kanan, and being in contact with the Sith holocron, bearing with the dark side; and by the end, as the spirit of the Father, finally agreeing to be with the Force by submitting to its will, letting Kanan fulfil his destiny and allowing Ahsoka to return to her respective timeline.

Once his process of "the Force being with him and he being with the Force" is finished, using it to do what must be done and not to do what he thinks it should be done, the physical temple collapses.

There is no more need to be there once Ezra made himself "a living temple of the Force. And this is well shown in the final episode, when he literally surrenders to what the Force has for him, calling out the Purrgil and taking Thrawn and his Star Destroyer with him. This is when the figure with all its weight and symbolism of Ezra Bridger is finally born.

There are many ways to analyse Ezra's character, this is just one of them. A very personal one by the way, perhaps the most personal analysis I have ever done, for being in a very poetic and romantic way because I am also a poetic and romantic person, lol. Are you trying to fool us? Because it seems like you got the title wrong.

No, I was not wrong in the title. I wrote it like that on purpose because I always write the title after writing the text. It's a statement: I don't like Ezra. I don't like his personality. He seems impertinant, irritating, and often annoys me.

And even after doing this analysis on him, I haven't changed my mind, I still don't like him. So why the hell have I wasted my time on this? No, I haven't wasted my time. On the contrary, I have learned a lot. I have learned to respect and admire Ezra, to see him with different eyes, for his value and importance in the Rebels and in the canon as a whole. It is easy to analyse a character that you like, challenging is when you dare to try to study and understand a character that you disdain, because it forces you to open and expand your mind.

And I particularly like that, because having challenges makes me think, a habit that has been gradually declining in recent times.

And that is not being hypocritical, on the contrary, it is being intellectually honest. Catch up with her on Twitter ohcatrina. Log In.

He avoided it when he was directly offered the chance by both Maul and Emperor Palpatine on separate occasions.

He avoided it when he had the chance to save Kanan after watching him die. He had the chance to succumb to the Dark Side on so many occasions before and he resisted every single one of them.

Ezra Bridger is exactly what you want a Jedi to be — an embodiment of good. Or can he? Streaming More Netflix News ». More Amazon News ». View all Streaming Sites. More Movie News ».
