For example, one plugin is designed to combine your social media apps into one of the two windows, allowing you to swipe through those apps while another browser window remains open on the top of the display.
Some of the extra features aren't quite as intuitive as just using basic split-screen mode, so it takes some playing around with, but this app definitely has a lot of options to choose from.
There are also a lot of the standard web browsing features included as options, like private browsing, parental controls, and more. The biggest issues with this app for me are not being able to pinch-to-zoom, and that the settings bar can sometimes stick around when you don't want it to.
Still, these issues can be overlooked depending on how you're using your iPhone for split-screen multitasking. Just like the previous app, Split for iOS 6 or higher is a web browser that lets you split your browsing experience into two screens.
While it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that Split Screen Multitasking View has, it does have one obvious advantage — you can have more than just two panes. The app also can be used in landscape mode, which works well, if not better than portrait mode. It just feels easier browsing two webpages simultaneously when they are side by side like this, and Split handles the job smoothly.
On the surface, Split appears to be lacking many features you'd normally want in a browser. For example, you can't check your history however you can make bookmarks. If you dive into the settings app, however, Split does offer a fair amount of customization. You can turn on private browsing, although there isn't a way to see your history in the first place.
You can remove the loading bar when opening a webpage, and you can prioritize full-screen mode and desktop websites. Without a doubt, the most notable change you can make is in the number of windows you can have open at once. Not two, not four, but twelve pages can be open simultaneously through Split. It's completely functionless, and you will not be able to browse in this mode, but you can do it just to say you did it. You can switch to email or calendar while a voice call is still connected in the background.
You can listen to music from the iPod function while continuing to use other apps on the iPhone. You can switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data or vice versa and try again. Step 1: Open the PC and open iTunes on it. Get the iPhone connected to the computer using the USB cable. Click on it. Step 3: Choose the file type to access the corresponding files. Then click the Apps tab near the top of the window.

To view the Slide Over window if it's hidden, swipe left from the right side of the screen. To switch to Split View mode from Slide Over, drag the top of the Slide Over window to the bottom-left or bottom-right corner of the screen. Method 3. Split View lets you have two apps open on the screen at the same time.
Start by opening one of the apps you want to use. Since Split View is enabled by default, you shouldn't have to turn it on. This displays the Dock at the bottom-center. Drag an icon from the Dock to the left or right edge of the screen.
To drag the app's icon, tap and hold it, and then without lifting your finger, drag it to the left or right edge. The new app will now appear on the screen beside the app that was already open.
This makes the app's icon appear on the far-right side of the Dock in the recently-used app slot. Adjust Split View to meet your needs. There are a few different ways you can customize Split View: Drag the vertical app divider at the center of the two apps to adjust the amount of screen space consumed by each app. To close Split View, drag the vertical app divider to the edge of the screen over one of the apps.
To switch from Split View to Slide Over , swipe down from the top of one of the open apps. Method 4. Open an app that plays video. Picture in Picture allows you to continue watching a video or using Facetime in a smaller window while you use apps.
Begin by starting your video or making your Facetime call. If you've disabled Picture in Picture in the past, you'll need to re-enable it. Slide the "Picture in Picture" switch to On green. Tap the Picture in Picture icon. It looks like a hollow rectangle with a downward-pointing arrow and a smaller filled-in rectangle at its bottom edge.
The video or Facetime call will shrink and move to the top-right corner of the screen. If you don't see the icon, tap the screen once to show icons that are hidden. Open another app. For example, if you want to send an email while you're on a Facetime call, you can open the Mail or Gmail app.
The Picture in Picture window will float over the new app at the top-right corner of the screen. Use both apps simultaneously. You can now work in the new app without having to stop watching your video. Here's what you can do with Picture in Picture while you work: To move the smaller video window, simply drag it to another location. Tap the video window to display its controls. Pinch the video window inward to make it smaller, or spread your fingers apart on the screen to increase its size.
