What is the difference between everquest and everquest 2

EverQuest vs. EverQuest 2. No clue where to put this, so I did it in Gameplay Discussion since it makes the most sense here. Sort of. Me, I'm someone from the current gen, the one you'd insultingly and stupidly call a 'casual carebear'.

That dumb terminology aside, I've moved on from WoW since it felt empty, at least to me. It didn't suit my love of exploration, combat, skill interaction, and player skill influence.

I am still having a sort of hard time deciding between the two. EverQuest 2? Pros of each? Cons of each? Plus I don't want to buy an XPack for one and end up moving to the other.

I think Everquest 2 is more friendly to the casual player, but why not try out both and see which one you prefer? There are some limitations to the free to play accounts, but you can get a very good idea of what the games are like. You can even keep playing both if you like with no extra charge because if you decide to subscribe, the subscription would cover both games.

Dude likes this. Eq however is much more difficult than eq2 but not quite as fun. Those are my opinions hope it helps. I have the fondest memories in almost all of gaming with EverQuest 1. I played from January until Sept or so, I think. When the classic progression servers came out a year or two ago, I had a wave of nostalgia hit me, and instantly wanted to start playing EQ1 again, I bought the expansion because I've long forgotten my email account and password from ten years -- and I couldn't play it longer than an hour or so.

I forgot how clunky the UI is, etc. If they modernized the game interface more, it would be a lot better. I don't mind the old graphics, because it was the gameplay that made it a great game I mean, look at Minecraft , but I just couldn't get back into it again. I get to experience the nostalgia still, because they have all the old familiar areas. It's still pretty playable in it's F2P state, but if you play it longer than a few months and start getting up there in level, you'll want to subscribe.

Even in it's present form, it's the most immersive MMO experience. Unfortunately, the old days of traveling to the zone of your death, finding a necro to help find it, looting it, and begging a cleric for a rez are gone.

Honestly, I havent played either Go for everquest. Now that I m off the WoW for some time again I m looking for games to fill my freetime. Everquest is really nice since they eased up on the F2P restrictrions, didnt regret installing it again.
